Responsible for
Selecting and reviewing external Investment Managers that will provide the necessary expertise to achieve stated Investment objectives.
 
Reports To
Manager - External Investment Management.
 
Supervises
May supervise more junior staff.
 
Main Activities
  • Identifying and selecting external Investment Managers with expertise in specific asset classes.
  • Communicating the organisation's Investment objectives and strategy with external Managers.
  • Monitoring and reviewing the performance of existing external Investment Managers.
  • Analysing and researching relevant market trends as well as monitoring the performance of potential Investment Managers for future selection.
  • Identifying and providing for staff training and development needs.
  • Managing professional and productive relationships with external Investment Managers.

    Typical Experience
    5 - 10 years relevant industry experience, perhaps in Portfolio Management coupled with tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Business, Economics or Finance.
     
    Other Comments
    An incumbent performing this function will not have responsibility for Portfolio Management.
