Responsible for
The promotion and technical support of chemical/biological products designed to increase the yield and disease resistance of crops in an area.
 
Reports To
State or Regional Sales Manager.
 
Supervises
No supervisory responsibilities.
 
Main Activities
  • Promoting the use of fertilisers, pesticides or similar products by servicing and motivating agents, calling on major clients to discuss needs and implementing a local advertising program.
  • Reporting on product development and market opportunities identified through field contacts and investigations.
  • Providing regular sales forecasts and revisions based on prevailing climatic conditions and acreages sown.
  • Distributing technical literature and providing advice on the use of company products.

  • Knowledge of the product and local market.
  • Strong personal sales abilities.
  • Proven skills in leading and motivating a team of Sales staff.
  • Sound administrative skills and good analytical and reporting abilities.

    Field Sales Management and Staff, Marketing, Administration, Product and Branch Managers.
     
    External Contacts
    Agents, Major Clients, Rural Newspapers and/or Advertising Agencies, Contract Applicators of Chemicals and Insecticides.
     
    Typical Experience
    Will have at least 4 - 6 years experience with tertiary qualifications in Agricultural Science, specialising in Agronomy / Crop Protection. May have Ag-Safe accreditation.
