Responsible for
Provisioning the network infrastructure and/or services; maintaining accurate records and preparing work orders. |

Engineering Manager/Chief Design Engineer. |

Supervises
No supervisory responsibilities. |
| |
Main Activities
Maintaining accurate records/documentation for all existing and planned network elements; systems; services or circuits.
Using provisioning models to support growth and development of the network infrastructure and service.
Preparing and issuing work orders for all customer and network provisioning activities.
Ensuring that new technology and architecture is implemented to appropriate provisioning standards.
Monitoring network/assignable equipment to ensure capacity exists to meet demand and advise appropriate groups where action is required.
Liaising with other groups to ensure timely delivery of services and infrastructure.
Liaising with other work groups to ensure design objectives and quality standards are achieved.
Ensuring on time performance; quality and productivity objectives are met.

Key Skills
Good knowledge of relevant computer applications e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, FileMaker Pro, etc.
High level of customer focus.
Ability to exercise independent judgement and work unsupervised.
Strong problem solving, Coordination and analytical skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of drawing packages e.g. MiniCad highly desirable.
Working knowledge of PTSN switching and/or PDH/SDH/ATM transmission architecture; GSM network; Internet/Intranet.

Typical Experience
2-5 years relevant telecommunications experience, coupled with experience in customer provisioning or design. Technical tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant telecommunications experience. |
