Responsible for
Providing higher level chargeable services to clients in developing industry specific systems mostly aligned to projects, consulting assignments and building and installing turn key Telecommunications solutions. |

Reports To
Manager (Professional Services) Region/Business Unit or Project Manager (Professional Services). |
| |
Supervises
Generally has limited staff responsibilities - may provide guidance to less experienced Consultants. |
| |
Main Activities
Designing and developing higher level stand alone Telecommunications solutions and other projects by evaluating customers' Telecommunications needs and providing input to the strategic planning of network facilities and systems directions.
Planning and coordinating resources necessary to complete product implementation and assisting in preparing major sales proposals.
Liaising with major customers during preliminary installation and testing of developed network solutions or products.
Providing Quality Assurance input to business development projects by liaising with Development Specialists regarding industry practices and user needs.

Expert knowledge of one or more industries or segments, coupled with strong analytical skills.
Ability to apply a broad range of consulting methodologies to complex customer situations.
High level of business and organisational understanding as applied in a consulting environment ,as well as knowledge of marketing strategy.

Typical Experience
10 years or more experience in Systems Design plus prior programming experience and implementing experience in information systems. |

Other Comments
The role requires a blend of technical, commercial and consultative skills. Some have moved into Computing from Commerce.
