Responsible for
Developing and managing the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of Information Technology to support and achieve the objectives of the organisation. Site size exceeds 5000 screens. |

Reports To
Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director. |

Supervises
Direct reports will typically be Senior Managers - Applications, IT Services/Infrastructure, Security, Architectural Services. Indirect reports are all IT Specialists within organisation. |

Main Activities
Participating in major corporate long and medium term decisions and strategies, particularly where IT has a major influence on the competitive advantage and profitability of the organisation.
Setting and controlling IT operational and development expenditures within budget.
Approving the forecasting and planning for equipment and software purchases/leases in relation to projected user requirements.
Establishing and maintaining standards in relation to enterprise infrastructure, applications and security.
Participating in organisational policy-making as a member of a Senior Management team.
Positioning the company technologically ahead of competitors, particularly focusing on current and anticipated requirements.

Typical Experience
At least 15 years of experience in Information Technology coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications, often an MBA. Typically has extensive management experience in addition to 'hands-on' IT experience. |
