Medical & Scientific Equipment Industries Salaries & Benefits Survey

The Medical & Scientific Equipment Industries Salaries & Benefits Survey was launched by Hewitt CSi in late 1986 and has since become an established and credible database in the industry today. It was designed to provide a reference to trends in salaries and benefits within organisations producing and/or selling a diverse array of products, extending from everyday items used in large quantities, such as bandages and syringes, to very sophisticated and costly items of capital equipment, such as X-ray, imaging and radiographic equipment, implants, and fine measuring devices.

Through close association with MIAA (Medical Industry Association of Australia), the survey continues to grow. MIAA members are entitled to a 10% discount on the annual survey sales price.

The latest survey, published in April 2008, has 3644 lines of salaries and benefits information and 55 contributors from a wide range of organisations within the Diagnostics, Medical Devices and Scientific Products & Equipment industries.

Survey Highlights

  • The April 2008 report consists of data for 3644 individual employees that was provided by 55 participating organisations. This has enabled Hewitt CSi to print 95 comprehensive salaries and benefits remuneration tables.
  • A total of 95 position tables, each with a corresponding position description and broken up into the following job families: Senior Executive, Sales, Marketing, Technical & Service, Finance & Administration, Research & Development, Logistics, Information Technology, Manufacturing and New Zealand.
  • Inclusion of Long Term Incentive data for all Senior Executive staff. Additional supporting information - beneficial analyses revealing general salary market movements and Australia's current economic environment.
  • Remuneration Forum - designed to provide an informal meeting place for contributors to network and discuss items such as current survey results, maximising the value of your survey, and the discussion of industry related topics.
  • Career levels - providing remuneration tables per job family as an alternate source of data for those positions they cannot match directly to positions within the survey.
