Responsible for
Providing both strategic and operational leadership for a single business marketing function such as Fundraising/Bequests, Direct Marketing, Events, Community/Public Relations.
 
Reports To
Chief Executive/Managing Director.
 
Supervises
A specialist team within the specified marketing function including Managers, Specialists, and Support staff.
 
Main Activities
  • Formulating marketing policies and strategies in line with organisational business plan.
  • Developing plans to achieve revenue/funding projections within specified function.
  • Implementing and monitoring the progress of marketing plans and campaigns on a national basis.
  • Preparing and updating national budgets, regularly reporting on performance against target, and providing variance analyses and revised projections.
  • Identifying, pursuing and developing new sources of support by continually gathering market research and market intelligence.
  • Building partnerships with appropriate external organisations.
  • Acting as an effective member of the Senior Management Team.
  • Managing the performance and personal development of all employees within the specified function.

  • Ability to interpret and maximise the use of sophisticated budget and market research data.

    Typical Experience
    At least 12 years of marketing and product management experience coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications.

    The role has significant elements of marketing strategy and positioning on a national basis. The single function managed will typically be Fundraising/Bequests, Direct Marketing, Events or Community/Public Relations.
