Responsible for
Providing support to Local Area Network (LAN) users to achieve maximum usage and efficiency. |

Reports To
Network Support Manager. |
| |
Supervises
No supervisory responsibilities. |
| |
Main Activities
Receiving incoming calls and user problem reports relating to IT problems and preparing appropriate documentation.
Liaising with Users/Systems groups in rectifying problems generated at the Helpdesk and through various requests.
Installing/relocating any terminals, printers or communications equipment as requested by Users on a timely basis.
Administering the use of all LAN's including the maintenance of the User register.
Providing assistance to users with standard LAN software and communications packages, and mainframe access.
Assisting with the development and enhancement of relevant standards, procedures and guidelines.
Planning, scheduling and implementing LAN hardware and software maintenance requirements and upgrades.
Preparing and verifying daily backups.

Good technical knowledge of LAN's, PC's, and experience in PC User Support and training.
Good analytical, design and programming skills.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels, in both oral and written forms.

Typical Experience
