In the top executive area, the size of the organisation has a direct effect on the magnitude of the job, and on the compensation appropriate to that job.

For this reason, separate remuneration rates are reported for seven different 'bands' of organisation size throughout this report.

Organisation size, for the purposes of this survey, is determined by the following grid.

The variables used in the grids to determine organisation size are Number of Staff and Annual Sales Turnover ($ million) or Assets ($ million). The seven categories typically relate to the following organisation sizes:
